William Bailey, the Conductor of the New River Youth Symphony, has many years of experience working with young people in the public schools. His artistic leadership enables the students to take on challenging music and play with confidence.
Mr. Bailey received a master’s degree in music education from the University of Northern Colorado, where he studied trumpet under Mr. Bill Pfund. He enjoys arranging and composing and has performed in various orchestras, jazz ensembles, and brass quintets, as well as the Bailey Family Quartet.
Judith Garvin Arnold, Conductor of the New River Chorus, is an accomplished soloist and instructor of voice and choirs. Her diligent guidance and store of knowledge encourage the students to perform their best.
Mrs. Arnold graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in music education and voice. She pursued graduate work at Michigan State University and has studied voice under Mary Ellen Hinkel and Judith Cavendish. She has enjoyed singing in many chorales, musicals, and community and church choirs.
